Scholarships and Bursaries
We believe that our Academy fees are extremely competitive and we provide payment plans to assist families with paying fees; however the Academy also offers one full scholarship and three bursary places each year. These are intended to help students from low-income families benefit from tuition at the Academy.
The scholarship place is for one highly promising student and entitles the holder to one full calendar year at the Academy completely free of charge, including LAMDA and ABRSM tuition up to grade 3. The three bursary places entitle the holders to one third off their fees over the course of the calendar year.
An audition must be completed by the applying student, in order to be eligible for the award of a scholarship or bursary. The parent/guardian of the student must complete an application form and they may be asked for proof of low income in order to qualify for an award.
Scholarships and bursaries are awarded based on the student's potential and the decision of the awarding panel is final.
Please note:
1) All scholarships and bursaries are non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative.
2) The Academy is under no obligation to make all of the awards every year.
3) Scholarship and bursary places are only awarded on the proviso that a minimum of one term is then taken up AT FULL PRICE following the completion of the bursary/scholarship year.
4) You will still be eligible to pay exam entry fees, even if you are on a full scholarship, as these are payable to the exam boards and not the Academy.
5) The bursaries and scholarships are aimed primarily at low-income households. HRMC defines "low income" as less than 26k annually, for families with one child. You may be asked to provide proof of low income following a successful audition.
