The TARGET academy: what we're all about...
our conceptA popular, innovative centre for the Performing Arts offering tuition in the disciplines of singing, acting and musical theatre, founded in 2008. Now run by the TARGET Drama Support Service, The Academy is the fastest growing theatre education provider in Wales.
our promiseWe believe that the performing arts should be available to everyone, from every background and with every personal need catered for. We work with education advisers to ensure that this is always the case.
our aimWe provide specific opportunities to thrive by offering our pupils the chance to enter for LAMDA theatre and ABRSM music examinations in order to gain a sense of achievement and some valuable first qualifications. If that's not to your taste, then we also offer Performance Assessments with no 'pass' or 'fail' but just useful advice and direction to help children progress and learn.
our visionOpen to all children between the ages of 5 and 16, with no audition, the Academy uses techniques from theatre to inspire and assist children in both the performing arts and with personal development.
our supportScholarships are available, direct from the Academy, to encourage children with special talent; bursaries provide extra financial assistance for enthusiastic performers.
our strategyWe are renowned for our unique balance between performance and education. Visit our Curriculum and News & Projects pages to learn more.

peace of mindThe Academy is a family business and protecting your family is our number one priority. We pride ourselves on our ethos of inclusivity and do everything possible to ensure that your child has a fun, safe, friendly and fulfilling atmosphere in which to develop as a performer and a young person.

environmental responsibilityThe Academy is committed to protecting the environment, and reducing its carbon footprint, and therefore all class materials are now available to access electronically and for download, rather than in paper format. For each project, a document will be available for pupils and parents to access themselves, thus cutting down on the amount of unnecessary printing that needs to be done.
